Aidfolio: free, private tools for local NGOs facing donor assessments
Aidfolio gives local humanitarian organisations free, private tools for the three problems they raise most: getting ready for a partner assessment, working out their true overhead costs, and preparing to share risk with a donor.

The problem
Before a local NGO can receive funding through the UN or an international partner, it usually has to pass one or more partner assessments. Each asks for evidence in a different format, and the organisations least able to pay consultants are the ones assessed most.
The same organisations are often funded at overhead rates that don't cover their real running costs, and rarely have the figures to negotiate.
What I built
- Readiness check: a readiness profile, prioritised gaps, draft practice statements built only from the organisation's own answers, a dated action plan and an evidence index for assessors.
- Fair cost: the organisation's true overhead (indirect cost) rate, how much its grants leave unfunded, and a negotiation brief citing published policies.
- Risk-sharing plan: structured preparation for a risk-sharing conversation with a donor or intermediary.
- A toolbox and guides linking every gap the readiness check finds to a free resource.
How it works
The readiness questions are mapped to the three assessments local NGOs most often face: the HACT micro-assessment, the UN PSEA partner assessment and the Charter for Change due-diligence passport, so one set of answers prepares an organisation for all three.
The risk-sharing planner follows the eight risk categories and seven stages of the Risk Sharing Framework (Risk Sharing Platform, 2023).
